Boom!

Written by Dane Czaplicki | Jun 29, 2026

Boom!

Not just the fireworks.

The second quarter ended with a bang as well.

If someone had shown you the headlines on April 1st and asked where markets would finish the quarter, what would you have guessed?

  • Iran.
  • SpaceX dominating conversations.
  • The debate over AI and semiconductor valuations continuing.
  • Questions surrounding the next Federal Reserve Chair.
  • New Trump Accounts.

And yet...markets largely shrugged and moved higher.

History has a funny way of reminding us that headlines and market returns don't always travel together.

As we celebrate America's 250th birthday next weekend, I've also found myself reflecting on another institution that's evolving—our own.

Members' Wealth is still young. We're entering what I think of as Members' Wealth 2.0. Like our country, we've spent our formative years debating values, refining our mission, challenging our assumptions, and asking what kind of institution we want to become. The Constitution has been amended over time. The country has evolved. Markets have evolved. We will too.

But some things shouldn't change.

For us, those foundations remain putting clients first, thinking long term, asking difficult questions, and building an institution that can endure beyond any one person.

Next week we'll publish our Quarterly Letter, tying together many of the themes we've explored this quarter—from private markets, Bitcoin and gold, and redefining investment risk, to lessons from the dot-com era and today's AI infrastructure buildout.

The quarter outperformed many expectations.

So now what?

We'll share our thoughts next week.

In the meantime, July has historically been one of the stronger months for U.S. equities, with much of that strength often occurring during the first half of the month. Of course, history is a guide—not a guarantee—and every market cycle writes its own story.

Until then, enjoy the fireworks, celebrate 250 years of an extraordinary experiment, and don't forget to take care of the four-legged members of your family.

The markets may love a boom...

Your dog probably does not.

Happy Fourth of July!
