For well over a decade, I have struggled to find a way to use my experience on Wall Street to serve people and make them feel better about their finances. After exploring different paths, I found that my time on the bike and doing yoga have taught me two things: the importance of money in our lives and the awareness of money matters.
Last summer, I contacted a former colleague to get some ideas about adding more value to my clients, and he happened to be in the process of starting what is now Members’ Wealth LLC. After a few calls, I could see the potential the firm had to fill in many of the gaps I felt my service (and much of the financial services industry) had.
## Building Our Vision for Serving Clients at Members’ Wealth
At Members’ Wealth, we offer a unique service that focuses on all aspects of people’s lives that have a dotted line back to money. Our profit funds our mission, and we take the extra time to focus on our clients’ future cash flow, tax and estate planning, and cash management, and build portfolios that focus on their plans. We look way down the road, past the daily ebb and flow of the capital markets. And on top of that, we are proud of our attention to service—in a world where getting someone on the phone when you need them most is getting more and more unlikely.
Our process of discovery, creating a proposal, and implementing the plan, coupled with ongoing check-ins with clients and plan revisions, add more value to people’s lives than anything else I know how to do. What’s more, I have the privilege of doing this with a group of people who feel the same way—a group of passionate service providers who work as a cohesive team.
## If You Want to Go Far, Go Together
Our team already includes credentialed specialists (Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder, estate attorney) and our goal is to continue to invest in additional specialist hires as we grow to benefit our clients. Plus, each of us has more than 20 years of experience in this industry. What better way to lead with service than having a dedicated four-person service team of experienced professionals? That team includes an advisor, a portfolio manager, a planning specialist, and a client service professional to support each client’s needs.
I have always appreciated the old African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” To me, that’s exactly what we’re building around here at Members’ Wealth: going together. Yes, we are working together as a group of experienced professionals. But, more importantly, we are leveraging that group strength to help take our clients further.
So, in a sentence, I joined Members’ Wealth to be part of something bigger, something that not only puts clients first but can go far on their behalf.
### About Tim
[Tim Thomas](https://www.memberswealthllc.com/tim-thomas) is the co-founder of Members’ Wealth and serves as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this position, he worked in a variety of roles including consultant to the Bank of New York’s investment platforms, branch manager and Director of Service and Operations at Lockwood Financial, and as a specialist clerk on the New York Stock Exchange. In recent years, Tim started and operated an RIA, consulted other RIAs, and worked as a financial coach and consultant on financial strategy for small companies and nonprofits.
