As we reach the midpoint of the year, it’s a natural time for reflection. The capital markets have been volatile—reacting to global political shifts, economic uncertainty, and rapidly changing investor sentiment. And yet, despite the turbulence, markets have managed to touch new highs after briefly flirting with bear market territory.

At Members Wealth, we take these moments to pause—not only to assess market conditions but also to reflect on who we are, who we serve, and how we deliver value.

Service Is Our Strategy

For us, service isn’t just a function—it’s our strategy. Like many fiduciary financial advisors, we believe that consistently delivering high-quality financial advice and planning is the best way to earn trust. But our focus isn’t only on existing clients. We’re also intentional about how we educate and serve those who are not yet clients.

Our Marketing Is Education

We see marketing not as a pitch, but as a form of education. Our goal is not to convince someone to hire us—it’s to help people make more informed decisions about their financial lives. We share content and host conversations intended to be useful, transparent, and actionable.

If we’re fortunate enough to have a one-on-one consultation with someone, it’s not a sales meeting. It’s a chance to listen, understand, and provide thoughtful guidance. Whether that individual becomes a client or not, we value the opportunity to help.

Open to Conversations

We enjoy meeting with family members and friends of clients, and we welcome conversations with those simply looking for direction. Even if we’re not the right fit, we’re happy to recommend another advisor or resource. We also speak to small groups on topics ranging from financial planning fundamentals to portfolio design, always with the goal of simplifying complex financial matters.

About the Author – Tim Thomas, COO

Tim Thomas is the co-founder of Members’ Wealth and serves as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this position, he worked in a variety of roles including consultant to the Bank of New York’s investment platforms, branch manager and Director of Service and Operations at Lockwood Financial, and as a specialist clerk on the New York Stock Exchange. In recent years, Tim started and operated an RIA, consulted other RIAs, and worked as a financial coach and consultant on financial strategy for small companies and nonprofits.
